Breastfeeding/Chestfeeding develops the muscles of the face. It prepares the face for chewing, drinking out of a cup, and speaking. The muscles used in breastfeeding also help bring the jaw forward and open the airway.
Breastfeeding/Chestfeeding also has many health benefits to the mother or person breastfeeding. It lowers their risk of ovarian and breast cancers, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and postpartum depression.
The impact that breastfeeding has on the body (both yours and baby's) will always amaze me and I'm sure we only understand a small percentage of it currently.
